| | | | Success Through Allah Alone: Raising Children Who Recognize the True Source of Achievement By Miriam Mohamed In a world that constantly measures success through visible outcomes and public recognition, this powerful ayah recenters the believer’s heart. It reminds us, and our children, that every accomplishment, whether academic or spiritual, is not the product of effort alone, but a gift and facilitation from Allah All-Mighty. For Muslim parents, this perspective isn’t just theological, it’s foundational to how we nurture our children through their milestones, from graduations to memorizing the Qur’an, from report cards to acts of worship. |
| | | Inspiration The Prophet developed three key strategies grounded in the Quran. Following these three success strategies now is Sunnah, or the path of the Prophet for us. I call them the “three ‘c’ strategies”: communication, care for humanity, and coalition building. Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid |
| | | When Will the Help of Allah Come? Tawakkul as Our Compass for Success By Wendy Diaz Recently, I was asked to prepare a lecture in Spanish on tawakkul in light of the hardships Muslims are facing around the world. In moments like these, many of us find ourselves asking, “When will the help of Allah come?” This is the same question believers asked in times of trial before us before finally finding relief, as mentioned in the Quran (2:214). While reflecting on this, I looked up the word tawakkul in an English dictionary out of curiosity. The word that kept coming up was “reliance.” When translated into Spanish, that word carries several meanings, one of which is “dependence.” |

| | | The Way to Success: Lessons from Surah Muminoon By Umm Ahmed Success for most of us, is commonly attributed to worldly achievements or desires. This could mean attaining a higher level qualification, getting the job of your dreams, living a blissful life with the people you care about the most, etc. Although perspectives differ, in general, the attachment or association is tied to worldly elements. For Muslims, the Quran - as a complete code of life - specifies and reiterates the prescription for success for the believer. Surah Mu'minoon, is one such surah that was revealed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to remind his Ummah or followers (those who believe in Allah and worship Him alone) of what true success is. It is imperative for parents to understand the true meaning of success in the light of the Quran first, in order to be able to translate it onto the future generations. |
