6 Tips for Relating to People of the Jewish Faith

By Sound Vision Staff Writer

History has shown the forced expulsion and oppression of Palestinians, the attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa, and now the acceleration of genocide in Gaza. These are things Muslims cannot bear to see or tolerate. In their anger and disgust, some Muslims mention individual Jews, people as a whole or the Jewish faith in a way that is not in line with Islamic teachings. How can we relate to Jews on a personal level - in our communities, our workplaces, our schools - without compromising our sense of justice or our rights, and while complying with Islamic guidance?

Islamic Guidance

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.’”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:155)

The Power of Dua

By Khalid Baig

Dua or prayer is the most potent weapon of a believer. It can change fate, while no action of ours ever can. It is the essence of ibadah or worship. With it we can never fail; without it we can never succeed. In the proper scheme of things, dua should be the first and the last resort of the believer, with all his plans and actions coming in between. This article was written some time ago but the reminders in it are timeless.
